SAP distribution game

I didn't make class the first Monday the game was initially started so i had to to be taught on the fly by my group members. I was on team N and we ranked first in the game, because we had the most profit and the least cost in the game. after the initial 2 rounds of the game we realized that we spent too much money on marketing in the first place and decided to decrease the marketing amount and add the money too the product that was selling. In Business profit is not all that matters, you have to deal with restocking and making sure you don't overstock an item especially one's not selling and that you have enough of the one's that are selling to meat customer demands. I think sales strategy is better because if it's planned correctly because it will give you the highest return and lowest cost. Obviously because we won i wouldn't change anything because we won at the, initially we should have spent less on marketing and more on our products. I learned that competitors can dictate you'r prices and ho much you can sell, also that market power influences what you spend and how you spend it

Apple fires employee

Based on my understanding of the article i feel the U.K based apple store was well within their rights to fire the employee as long as they had made clear the companies policies on social media. In the article it stated that " Apple, made it absolutely clear throughout the induction process that commentary on apple products, or critical remarks about the brand were, strictly prohibited". So by choosing to do so the employee knew the risks of his comments on the Apple products and should have not even appealed the decision in my opinion. As the employee because i was informed on the companies policies i wouldn't post positive or negative comments regardless of the social media avenue i'm using is private or not. Now as the employer i would expect you to obey the company laws and the fact that the policies were explained before you were hired and so i would do exactly what the company did in this case and fire the employee.

For students who wait till the last minute to complete an assignment or are having a hard time figuring out what to write about, they can easily find essays related to their topic and are often tempted to borrow from the work of others, some go even further and just submit the whole essay as their's. Colleges and Universities are using websites created to help filter through papers and determine if it's plagiarized or not, that is the most commonly used tool by schools, also the teacher can go through the paper and realize obvious signs that let them know the paper has been plagiarized e.g (forgetting to reformat the paper). Teachers are also asking students to turn their papers into a website that also checks for plagiarism.

Ethics and Behavior

I worked at Motel 6 for the 2008 summer. Money had rarely been missing from my cash register whenever shifts changed hands. Cash registers were set to always start at $350.00 if everything was accurate. on this particular night i checked in a customer for three nights and gave him the wrong amount of change back essentially charging him for one night instead of three basically. I left work that thinking my manager would figure it out by the time i returned to work the next night. Upon arriving at work the next day my manager called me into the office to ask about the cash register being short close to $180.00, immediately i responded with the obvious answer i didn't take any money from the register and that to my knowledge i did everything according to procedure. I was sent home because my manager believed that had took the money without even as much as investigation into the matter i have never had my ethics had never been in question as much as it was then to make matters wore my uncle was the district manager and so he was contacted because i was written up. He called me into work a day later and went over the nights events and what i remember about it after explaining everything he went over the papers and realized where i made my mistake which was giving the customer to much cash back during the transaction. Thankfully the customer also realized the mistake and returned the excess change he received. Outside of the fact that my uncle helped raise me, if it wasn't for his professional ethics and the morale's of the customer i wouldn't have been able to keep my job

Falling Behind

I feel the United States is falling far behind in education because of its approach to education. A lot of the teachers may understand the material they need too teach but if you cannot relate it to a student the right way they wont understand it and thus transfers to the PISA test conducted in 60 countries. the students also pay a major role in US falling behind you cannot teach anyone who isn't interested or concerned with education and i feel its a major problem plaguing this country. This problem cannot be fixed with the current generation it has to start with the next drill the importance of education to young children now and it wont be an issue in future years.

Tools of learning

Technology infused into classrooms have made teaching and learning very simple and easy both on instructors and students. some of the tools i have used include computers, clickers, cell phones, blackboard, blog's,power points, youtube, search engines.
Salisbury was the first time i have used a clicker. I use it in my Bio class for attendance and quizzes and it is both efficient and easy to use. This is also the first time i have used my phone for educational purposes besides using it for a calculator occasionally. Power points are used by most professor to present the days information. Blackboard allows you to access your class information such as grades, notes, syllabus e.t.c
These different tools have helped speed the learning process in class and have made it also easy to participate in classes. They have surely helped my learning process in school

Technology and Sports management

technology and sports are becoming one in the same. In this years NFL draft combine Under Armour created a shirt called the E39 which measured a players heart rate and G force (measuring their ability to perform when tired) while doing drills organized by the league, this affects how high a player is chosen in the impending draft. It affects my major because if your representing a player in a setting like that if your client has a bad combine his weaknesses can be exposed and thus drop from a sure first round draft pick to a late round or even not getting drafted.

Also a series of experiments using technology to studies athletes from different sports and their physical abilities, the show is appropriately named sports science. This would affect me positively because in this case the players unique abilities are measured in technology science

and this is how technology can affect my major
